About

Judge Veronica Henry

Elected in 2010, Judge Veronica E. Henry is the Chief Judge of the First City Court in New Orleans.

Under Judge Henry’s leadership, First City Court has implemented innovative court services and programs that have energized and strengthened the court’s core commitment to ensuring meaningful access to justice for all litigants. Her court initiatives have become best practices, especially in the area of eviction litigation. A milestone, Judge Henry established the first Evictions Help Desk in the state of Louisiana.

Throughout her tenure on the bench, Judge Henry has prioritized individuals and families and has endeavored to restore hope to those who are working through unexpected hardships and emotional upheaval. Her dedication to the work of the court and the people of New Orleans have been recognized by local community leaders and nationally by the White House.
